Ireland win FEI Nations Cup in Boekelo

An outstanding performance from the Irish Eventing team of Aoife Clark, Susie Berry, Padraig McCarthy and Austin O’Connor brought victory in the final leg of the 2024 FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series at Boekelo in The Netherlands.

After lying in sixth place after Friday’s Dressage, Ireland moved into the lead following Cross Country, with one Show Jump in hand over the USA. Clears from Susie Berry (Clever Trick) and Padraig McCarthy (Pomp N Circumstance), and just 4 penalties to add from Aoife Clark and Sportsfield Freelance left Ireland a full 13.5 penalties clear of USA, while Germany finished third on 131.9.

The overall victory in the 2024 FEI Eventing Nations Cup Series went to France.

In the individual competition, Susie Berry and the Vincent Cousins-bred Clever Trick (ISH) finished in 6th place, best of the Irish after completing on their Dressage score of 32.0.

Padraig McCarthy finished 10th on Pomp N Circumstance.

Aoife Clark finished 12th with Sportsfield Freelance (ISPA), (bred by Sharon and Brian Hallahan).

Robbie Kearns finished 17th with Very Dignified (ISH) (bred by Deirdre Bowler).

EI member Daniel Alderson, riding for GBR, finished 13th on Blarney Monbeg Pepper (ISH) bred by Marie & Peadar Carter.
