Six Irish Combinations in Top 20 at Le Lion

Six Irish Combinations finished in the top 20 in the 7yo class at the FEI WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championship 2024, at Lion d’Angers.

Danielle McCormack just missed out on a top-6 finish, with her 7th place on MGH Hildare Harlequin (owned Anna Sims-Hilditch bred by Padraig McCarthy), finishing on their dressage score of 34.4.

Ian Cassells and Bridget McGing’s home-bred Inquisitor made top-10, adding just one pole to their dressage score. Ian also finished in 14th with Greenogue Gigi (owned/bred Con McCarthy), just 0.3 penalties behind Cathal Daniels with Shannondale Micah (owned Sarah Hughes, bred Martin Walsh) in 13th place.

Padraig McCarthy (Kilroe Tiger, owned Diane Brunsden & Peter Cattell, bred Christopher O’Sullivan) and Godfrey Gibbons (Kilroe Lego Land, owned Maurice Coleman bred Robert Moore) took 18th and 19th respectively.

In the 6yo class, Noel Dunne was the highest placed of the three Irish combinations, finishing 19th on Jenny Curley’s Kief Rhapsody of Belline (bred by Kieran Fahey.)
