EI Amateur Newsletter May 2023

General News Amateur Eventing
Orla Maguire, 2022 EI90 Amateur Champion

As the eventing season has now well and truly kicked off we are delighted to see so many amateurs out competing. As a committee we are VERY excited to announce the launch of our Amateur Eventing newsletter. It is envisaged this will be monthly throughout the eventing season, and likely 1 to 2 newsletters during the winter months.

We want this to be a forum to celebrate ALL the success of our amateur members, be they competition winners, first-timers, or those who had a good day out and are celebrating their ‘little wins’!

We hope you all will contribute by sending in your stories, your little wins and photos (these can be of anything, not just competing!)

We are planning to launch an Amateur Eventing Instagram page where we aim to post pictures of our members out training, competing and doing anything else. We also may create some reels yo showcase the enjoyment of our members out and about. Please again we ask anyone and everyone to contribute by sending photos/videos to our email address committee@amateureventing.com or DM Amy anderson on facebook or Instagram (@amy_anderson95). These can be anything – competing, the last minute tack cleaning, family days out, course walks, training videos, warm ups, thrills and spills.

We also aim to have an educational piece each newsletter on various aspects of life as an equestrian. Up first is ensuring your horse is fit to compete. If there are any topics you’d like some more information on please do not hesitate to send your ideas to us!

We are always looking for volunteers to help us on the committee! Amateurs are the backbone of any sport and your time and expertise is always welcome in all departments!
