Sonja Egan, PhD Head of Breeding, Innovation and Development:

I wish to congratulate competing combinations, owners, and breeders on their selection to represent Irish Studbooks in the upcoming FEI WBFSH World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses 2024. Irish breeders have a long and successful history of breeding eventing horses, the Irish Sport Horse studbook have maintained a leading ranking in the eventing studbook rankings for 27 out of the 29 years that they have been established.

I wish to thank Dag and the HSI team for their work to date with these combinations, and through the selections. Horse Sport Ireland would like to wish the 6- and 7-year-old teams the very best of luck and we forward to supporting them throughout the championship!

Irish studbooks participation in Le Lion D’Angers is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine under National Breeding Services.
