Eventing Ireland would like to thank everyone who took part in the National Championships at Kilguilkey House this weekend. Whether you were an athlete, groom, parent, sponsor, volunteer or official, we could not have done it without your amazing support!

We have received so many compliments from athletes and parents which means a lot. It takes months of work behind the scenes to prepare an event such as the Championships and we hope you enjoyed your experience, particularly those who had never competed at our Championships before.
We do want to acknowledge that there was a problem with the results for the EI100, EI90 and EI80 classes in that the time penalties incurred did not correctly show on the results page despite them being correct on the admin side of the system. This meant all results had to be re-input again which delayed the prize giving ceremonies and placings were changed as a result. Thank you to everyone who stayed last night for the prize givings.
In addition, the optimum times for the EI90 and EI80 were adjusted prior to those classes starting following an error in the length of courses. It became clear after several athletes in the EI100 class that the optimum time did not reflect the actual course length, resulting in in many time penalties for athletes that came in more than 30 seconds outside the optimum time. Unfortunately, as the class was well underway when it was discovered, the stewards confirmed that original optimum time of 5minutes 32 seconds stood. We can only apologise to the athletes whose times and placings were affected when the recalculations were done.
